beautyberry update
The American beautyberry plants survived the winter! They were so far behind a lot of other plants, I thought they might not have made it but all six are intact.
Some of them sprouted a lot of leaves on their original stems. But some of them are budding little or not at all on the original stem, instead putting all the growth into a clump of new leaves at the bottom.
The grasses had just about suffocated them, but were easy to uproot in the mulch. The berry plants look like they feel so much better.
